ADS131B04-Q1: RESET bit of STATUS reg is '1' every reading while reset pin is pegged to DVDD and null command issued

You should be able to get 0x050F STATUS word when you reading the conversion from ADS131B04-Q1, "F" in this data indicates that the conversion data on all 4 channels are available and ready to be read. See the first word in the timing below:

I would suggest you to check if there is any glitch to the START/RESET pin. If you could share a data file of your timing captured with a logic analyzer(for example Saleae), I can check it as well.
