Tool/software:
We are currently evaluating the ADS8688 ADC using the EVM board and have noted the following observations and queries. Could you please review and provide your feedback at your earliest convenience?
Test Condition :The ADC is configured for a 0 - 5.12V input range, but the input voltage applied to channel 3 is 7.7V, which exceeds the configured input range.
Observation: For the initial ~1.6 seconds, we received a full-scale value of 65535 from the ADC. After this period, the ADC output was 57417 counts. Upon further inspection of the ADC configuration, we found that the input range for all channels had changed to -10.24 to +10.24V. from 0 to 5.12V
Queries:
- Does the ADC automatically adjust to the maximum input range configuration(-10.24 to 10.24 V) if it receives an input voltage greater than the configured range?
- Why does the input range for all channels change when only one channel receives an input voltage exceeding the maximum configured value?
- Is there a workaround to prevent this automatic change in input range configuration?
