DAC34SH84: DAC34SH84EVM & Pattern Generator Availbility

Part Number: DAC34SH84
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC34H84

Hello,

I have an application that requires low latency (JESD204 is not viable) DAC with >200MSPS rates.

I have identified the DAC34SH84 as a viable solution, but I want to test several parameters before committing to this solution.

I see that the DAC34SH84EVM is in stock and can be purchased www.ti.com/.../DAC34SH84EVM

But the signal generator companion boards listed (TSW1400 / TSW3100) are non-stocked / not available.

Is there a recommended alternative available?

Also the documentation link for the DAC34SH84EVM links to a "Error 404" not found page...

  • Hello Eric

unfortunately, the TSW1400 is no longer available for evaluation. Our customers have ordered the DAC34H84 EVM to connect to FPGA dev kits for their own prototype development. You may use the DAC34H84 by itself if you want to evaluate RF performance with the internal test tones.

Would you mind if I asked our marketing team to reach out to you to understand your applications and see if we have other potential solutions that may work for you?

would you kindly show me the link that has expired? Thank you

  • Hello,

We don't want to spin up custom software interface for this initial derisk testing so using the EVM standalone may be our best bet...

I think just enabling the NCO and running the DAC EVM without input LVDS data may work for the parameters we are interested in assessing...

Can you confirm that the procedure described here for configuring this setup is valid for use with the EVM with no input LVDS data? DAC3484: NCO only mode

We can jumper the LVDS inputs to static values to ensure they are not floating...

  • Hi Eric,

I have sent you an email to learn more about your project. Thank you!

  • Hi Eric,

You may simply use SIF_DAC mode. This will switch to internal DAC constant programmable values and ignore all LVDS input. Yes, you can refer to the E2E thread above.
