ADS1278EVM-PDK: data capture files

The user manual suggests the EVM has the capability to capture data files in text format. The only data access to teh raw daat collected that I have found is thru a TDMS viewing screen but it does not allow saving the TDMS file. Can soemone point to how datacapture files are generated?

Hello Wilbur,

Welcome to the TI E2E community.

You can easily export data to Excel or the clipboard.

Open the Time Domain Display, capture the data, and then right click on the waveform image. Next, select export Data to Excel or Clipboard.

This works in all of the TI Precision ADC EVM GUI's built in LabView.

hmmm...thanks...that isn't a very intuitive location to look...lol... maybe a reference to it in the user manual?

Hello Wilbur,

Yes, this is something that we can add in a future revision of the User's Guide.

You can also directly open the TDMS data file in Excel. You can find it in your temp folder:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\Texas Instruments\ADS127L18 EVM

Formatted_Data.tdms

This is not a standard Windows file and you will need an Excel Add-in from National Instruments to open it.
