ADS1299 power consumption

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1299

Hello all forum members,

I need to know how power consumption of ADS1299 changes as a function of both Amp's gain and Data Rate.

I could not find any information about it in the datasheet. Can anyone provide me any information on that?!

Regards,

-Mohammad

  • I am also interested in this informations about dependence of power consumtion and gain. Also power consumption and data rate.

  • Hello ,

Unfortunately there is no documented information on how sampling frequency and gain affect power consumption of ADS1299.

But to my understanding ,sampling rate itself should not affect the power consumption since the ADS1299 naturally runs at high sampling  frequency (more than 16 kSPS) and does the decimation through its built in decimation module regardless of the user’s defined sampling rate.

IN FACT, the user can only change decimation ratio so that output DATA RATE can be adjusted by user. That’s exactly the reason that in high sampling rate we have more noise as a result of reduction in averaging.

    BR,

    -Mohammad.
