Hi,

We recently purchased the TSW1400 EVM (Rev. D), a DAC34SH84 EVM (Rev. D) and an AFE5809 EVM (Rev. A). Could you share the Verilog code used to interface the TSW1400 EVM with these two boards? Hello,

Another bump. Is it possible to get the source code for the TSW1400 + ADC and DAC modules mentioned above? I want to interface them together, or at least get more control over the ADC procedure. Thanks in advance,

Hi,

There are two different project files involved here. The AFE5809 you mentioned is supported by our medical and hirel group so we will not have that code here in the high speed data converter group. The person who would have the code for the DAC device you mentioned has been out on travel. I think he is back and I will ask that he look at this.

An example of how to interface to the DAC3482 is provided in the link below. This interface is very similar to the DAC34SH84. Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi Eben,

Thanks for the link, I went through that document before as well. It would certainly help a lot to have the source code that compiles to the bitfile the GUI is using for the DAC34SH84EVM, since that is exactly right for the DAC34SH84 and would save us a lot of time. Let me know, thanks.

Hi Een.

I understand this is a post of more than a year ago. I am also working now on TSW1400 + DAC34SH84. There are something I try to do cann't be performed by the current firmware, like automatically stop DAC output. Is that possible to share me the verilog files as well?

I found that TSW1400EVM can simplify my work together with TSW1266EVM

Can these two EVMs implement together ?

Further, the above link is now unavailable to download, can you provide the latest version of the firmware?

So, I just need to program that TSW1400_top.sof into the board then it can run directly? Is that the latest version of TSW1400EVM with TSW1266EVM ?

Further, if i want to program .sof through Altera USB blaster, any steps are needed such as removing or installing some resistor?

Does these steps affect the control on GUI ??

If you are using the Altera USB blaster, you would program the FPGA with the .sof file using the JTAG connector on the TSW1400. This firmware is used to generate many versions of rbf files that were created from the sof files depending on what part was targeted and what input data format that part was using. I do not know what device this firmware was last setup for. If you program the latest sof file, there is a good chance it will not work with the ADS5402. You will have to verify this. There are many resistors that have to be moved to connect the JTAG connector to the FPGA. These attached files should assist you with this.

Ok. I will check the schematic out
So, can you provide the standard .sof file inside the TSW1400EVM to me such that i can reload the sof if the above firmware is not worked.

Further, after i install & remove the resistor as the attached file, will it affect the data capture function from usb? Because i see that it need to remove some resistors connecting to the USB chip. Please confirm it for me.

This is very old firmware and I do not have the .sof. If there is not one present, you will have to do a recompile with the correct settings of the firmware. The USB will not work as the software needs this path to read the FPGA ID. Your best bet is to make a new .rbf files from the .sof and use HSDC Pro GUI to load this file. This way you would not have to modify the board.

As I need to add some program after I verify the TSW1400 is worked completely, I need to clarify all the steps to reprogram the EVM board.

To conclude the above conversation, if i need to change the program of the FPGA, it is better to load a new .rbf file throw HSDC Pro than changing the resistor configuration of TSW1400?

Further, there are two settings inside the "Rev D USB FPGA configuration", I want to clarfied that if I reprogram the FPGA, I need to follow

"Programming on board Prom using Altera USBblaster" or "Auto-scan and Program .sof with USB Blaster" ?

After you generate a new rbf file, use the commands below in HSDC Pro to load this file to program the FPGA.

If I download the firmware from "download firmware" then the capture button is disable

so, how can i capture the data again?

secondly, I just receive the TSW1400 board, however, after following the instruction and user guide, I can get the singletone test signal yet

The power of main signal and its harmonics are almost the same level... do you have some advice
