ADS7223 on the single input

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS7223

Hi.

My customer want to use ADS7223 on Single Input.

Then, is it possible to achieve resolution of 12 bit under the following condition?

- Fully differential mode

- Input Voltage = 0 ~ 3.3V

- VREF = 1.65V

- Input Voltage and VREF are inputted to CHxxP terminal and CHxxN terminal.

If there is short information, please point it out.

  • Hi Kuramochi,

Yes, if you use the 1.65V reference as one of the inputs (to CHxxN for instance) and apply your 0-3.3V signal to the other input, you would be taking a differential measurement between the two.  I don't see any reason why you would have any issues reaching 12-bit resolution with the ADS7223.  I would suggest that you consider buffering the reference before running it to the input.
