AFE4490 EVM : how to load customized firmware, and use customized GUI?

Hi ,

I am trying to load customized firmware to MSP430 on the AFE4490 EVM for testing purpose. Also I am desiging a GUI to receive and visualize the data.

But there are two emergent questions, can you please take a look at them? Thanks.

1) Can I use the ' MSP430 USB Debugging Interface: MSP-FET430UIF' to download the firmware to the board?

But MSP-FET430UIF has 14-bit interface, and the debug interface on the AFE4490 EVM is 10-bit. Not sure why it is like this?

2) For PC side, should I use 'Code Composer Studio (CCS) ' or 'IAR' to perform simulation and project building?

3) Is there material showing how to get data from EVM to PC vis USB?

Hello,

I have a similar problem, but with the AFE4400 EVM. Is there a way to upload custom code to the existing MSP on the board? preferably using CCS

For the IDE, you can use CCS to program the MSP430 on the EVM.
