ISO100AP

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO124, AMC1200, AMC1100

ISO100APmarkedup.pdf                I am hoping you can help.  I am trying to have a part tested, but the datasheet and way of testing does not seem to be on the datasheet.

It is a ISO100AP – an old Burr Brown/TI part.

Do you have any idea or would you know anyone who can help us with this.

The engineer is believing many of these parameters are guaranteed or internal.  But we need clarification on the parameter list below.

                (#1,2,4,5,6,7,11,13,14,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,29,30) – problem parameters

The list below was from the engineer.  He cannot de-embed the parameters…

This datasheet is fraught with lack of information to complete testing.  One by one, these are the issues:

  1. Rated continuous ac peak or dcv – no pass fail criteria

  2. Test Breakdown DC – no pass fail criteria

  3. Leakage current – can test.

  4. Vosi – no test circuit or conditions

  5. Vosi, vs input power supplies – no conditions or test circuit

  6. Voso - no test circuit or conditions

  7. Voso, vs input power supplies – no conditions or test circuit

  8. Common mode range – can test

  9. Reference current soures – nominal can test

  10. Reference current sources – vs power supplies – can test

  11. Compliance voltage – no conditions or test circuit

  12. Slew rate – can test

  13. Input current range – no conditions or test circuit

  14. Input current range without damage - – no conditions or test circuit

  15. Output Voltage Swing – can test

  16. Gain Initial Error – no conditions or test circuit

  17. Non linearity – no conditions or test circuit

  18. Input Offset Current Ios – no conditions or test circuit

  19. Power Supplies supply current – can test

  20. Ouput state supply current – no conditions or test circuit

  21. Short circuit current limit – no conditions or test circuit

  22. Input Current Range linear operation – no conditions or test circuit

  23. Output Voltage Swing – can test

  24. Gain initial error – can test

  25. Nonlinearity – no conditions or test circuit

  26. Input offset current, initial offset – no conditions or test circuit

  27. Input offset current vs power supplies – no conditions or test circuit

  28. Power supply supply current – can measure

  29. Output stage Supply voltage– no conditions or test circuit

  30. Ouput Stage short circuit current limit – no conditions or test circuit

  • Hi Chris,

The ISO100 is a very old device, it was released back in May of 1982 and I'm afraid the only help I can give you on trying to test the part would be related to this app note: www.ti.com/.../iso100.pdf

The current status for the ISO100 is 'NRND' or "Not Recommended for New Designs" and its recommended replacement is the ISO124. Can I ask about your application here and weather or not you've looked into our newer isolation amplifiers like the AMC1200 or AMC1100?
