ADS8691: Device configuration and register maps

Part Number: ADS8691

Hi,

According to the datasheets absolute maximum ratings, the range between REFIO to REFGND is -0.3 to 5.7 Volt.
I was reading about the external reference page 29 and here it says that in external reference mode a 4.096 V reference must be applied at the REFIO, does this mean that a other reference like 1 volt would not be possible and that the range of -0.3 to 5.7 is only for spikes (safety) or is this just saying something about the example shown in the datasheet.

My output from te sensor is ±0.3 mV and if it is possible to decrease the external reference to say 1 Volt this would also reduce the bandwidth extenders amplification needed.

Regards,

Dukel

  • Hi Dukel,
Thanks for your query on E2E, but as suggested before, we recommend to keep same or similar question about same device into same thread on E2E forum, since we had a lot of communications about this ADC and similar questions as below, I will close this query and keep below active to solve your issue, thanks for understanding.
