ADS1015: How to configure ADS1015 ALERT/RDY pin as comparator output in continuous-conversion mode?

Part Number: ADS1015

Hi Team,

My customer used the ADS1015 to detect external voltage,

We would like to configure ADS1015 ALERT/RDY pin as comparator output in continuous-conversion mode,

Could you let me know how to configure it? Thanks.

  • Ray,

The ALERT/RDY pin can be configured as the output of a digital comparator. This is described in section 8.3.7 on pages 13 to 14 of the datasheet. There are two different modes of comparator which are explained in Figure 13.

In the Config Register, bits 4 down to 0 control different aspects of the comparator mode. The comparator starts as disabled, and can be enabled with the COMP_QUE bits [1:0]. By writing 00 to these bits, you can enable the comparator to assert an alert after the ADC output trips the threshold.
