Searching DAC: DIP package, 10bit, 500kHz output, sample

Hi,

I'm a student developing a signal generator for an university project. I'm searching for a DAC with this characteristics:

- 10bit resolution

- output wave up to 500kHz

- parallel input

- DIP package for prototyping

- Selled as sample to try the first prototype

Can you suggest me the name of a device with this characteristis

    Hi Davide,

    To clarify, are you trying to have the output update rate 500k samples per second, or generate some kind of wave at that has a 500kHz frequency. For example if you are trying to create a 7-point sine wave at 500kHz, then you would need 3500k samples per second.

    If it is the latter case, then I think you will need to look at high-speed DACs. If you need only 500ksps, then many of our precision DACs can be used.
    You could consider the DAC0800 - PDIP, 8-bit. Otherwise you do not have too much selection in the PDIP package. You could look at these devices:

    You can probably find PCB adapter boards for the SOIC and TSSOP packages that can make prototyping a little easier.
