AMC1304M25: PIN 1 = NC, but connected in TIEVM-HV-1PH-DCAC

Part Number: AMC1304M25

Hi There,

I've noticed that in the TI EVM-HV-1PH-DCAC design there is an AMC1304 SDFM chip that has Pin 1 connected to 5V via a 1.1ohm resistor.

The datasheet for the AM1304 says this pin is NC.

I hunted throught he datasheet but could not find a reference to this.

Please advise if this resistor should be there or not?

Thanks

Robin

  • Hi Robin,

Pin 1 of the AMC1304M25 is listed as NC, but it can be connected to the VCAP pin (pin 7) as described in the datasheet on page 4 under the Pin Functions table. In the reference design you referred to, that 1.1 ohm resistor is shown as 'DNP' or "Do Not Populate", so its not actually installed. It should not be tied to the LDOIN pin (pin 6), so thank you for pointing this out. I'll chat with the author of that document and see if we can get the schematic updated.
