ADS1120: About Power-Supply Ramp Rate

Part Number: ADS1120
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , ADS1220

Hello Support team,

I previously asked about "Power-Supply Ramp Rate" of ADS1120.
I have understood that there is a requirement for the ramp rate for DVDD so that IC is reset and powered on correctly.

I have more questions about this "Power-Supply Ramp Rate".

[Question]
1. There is no description of this "Power-Supply Ramp Rate" in the data sheet of ADS1120-Q1.
Does ADS1120-Q1 have no requirements of "Power-Supply Ramp Rate"?

2. If so, are there any differences between ADS1120 and ADS1120-Q1?

3. Is "Power-Supply Ramp Rate" a unique requirement for ADS1120 or ADS1220?
Are there any other products that have the limitations of "Power-Supply Ramp Rate"?

Sincerely,
M. Tachibana

  • Hi Tachibana-san,

this is a very good question you are raising.

The ADS1120 and ADS1120-Q1 as well as the ADS1220 all have the same supply ramp rate requirement. We just have not managed to update the ADS1120-Q1 datasheet with this information yet. We plan to revise the ADS1120-Q1 datasheet later this year and will then add this requirement to the datasheet.

The supply ramp rate requirement depends on the specific design of the ADC. Other ADCs in our portfolio do not have this requirement.

    Regards,

  • Hello Würker-san,

I am extremely thankful for your prompt reply.

I understood that ADS1120-Q1 also has the requirement of "Power-Supply Ramp Rate" and its datasheet will be corrected later.
And I also understood that this requirement is a unique limitation for these products.

    Thank you very much.
    M. Tachibna
