ADC12DJ5200RF: the frequency is modulated at half the sampling rate

Hi,

I am currently trial-and-error trying to run the ADC12DJ5200RF on a board I designed.

Although the ADC12DJ5200RF has been operated at various sampling rates, the data appears to be modulated by a signal having a frequency half the sampling rate.

For example, running at 10.4 Gsps modulated the signal at 5.2 GHz, running at 9.6 Gsps modulated the signal at 4.8 GHz, ... and so on.

Attached is the measurement data when a 100 MHz signal is input.

How can I get the correct data?

Hi,

Please try to use an external sampling & external REF clock for your board design to make sure the these frequencies are setup correctly.

Hi,

After looking at the Excel spreadsheet again, it is possible that data being captured is not being sequenced and channelized properly. I would review pages 62 and 64 of the 5200RF ADC datasheet which describes the JESD operation modes. Please re-check this and make sure the data is being captured properly.
