Greetings,
Now I want to use TI product ADS1120,
I have a small inquiry on Vref.
Please find my desing parameters below.
DVDD:3.3V
DGND:GND (0V)
AVDD:5V
AVSS:AGND (0V)
In datasheet, I can find the spec below.
Differential reference input voltage Vref = V(REFPx) – V(REFNx)
Min 0.75 Nom 2.5 Max AVDD
Can I use the following Vref setting?
REFP0:4.096V
REFN0:AGND (0V)
Normal value is 2.5V in the datasheet, if I change it to 4.096V,
what should I pay attention to when I designing.
I appreciate for your suggetion in advance.
Thanks.
Regards,
Hi Yumiko,
Yes, you can use the 4.096V reference in the manner that you suggest. I suggest placing a 100nF cap across the reference input pins. As far as design guidance, you should follow the Layout Guidelines and Layout Example as much as possible shown in Section 11 of the ADS1120 datasheet. A solid ground plane usually works the best.
Best regards,
