INA233 I2C COMMUNICATION

Part Number: INA233

Hello friends ,

I want to know how many ina233 devices can be used on a single pair(sda , scl pins). The datasheet shows the A1 and A0 pins for addressing can be connected to VSS,GND,SDA,SCL.

I want to know since the sda , scl are continuously changing state how can they be used for addressing.

Attaching the screenshot from the datasheet.

  • Hi Jitender,

As shown in Table 3 of the datasheet, you can create up to 16 unique addresses. All of these may be used on the same I2C bus.

The address check doesn't use the voltage on pins A0 and A1, because as you said the SDA and SCL lines change logic levels often. Instead the part measures the resistance between those pins to detect which one is shorted to A0 or A1. For this reason it's important to not use resistors (unless 0 ohms) to make the address connections.
