Dear Sirs,
The documentation of the ADS130E08IPAGR does not make sense; See http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ads130e08.pdf
On page 23 it is mentioned that one bit needs to be set in config1 register to decide if daisy chain shall be used or not.
On page 34 the register settings are described but is says nothing about the daisy chain.
Please explain if daisy chain exist in the low cost ADC?
If yes, please explain how to handle the settings to activate and to turn of the daisy chain.
Hi Mats,
Thanks for your post.
This device certainly supports daisy-chain. I think the discrepancy you are seeing in the datasheet comes from a spin of a similar device's datasheet, the ADS131E08. These devices are essentially the same, with the main difference being 16-bit vs. 24-bit performance. However, it looks like we also offer a feature in the ADS131E08 called "Multiple Readback Mode," which is not offered in the 16-bit variant. In the ADS131E08 datasheet, you'll see that CONFIG1[6] has two options, while CONFIG1[6] must be set to '0' in the ADS130E08.
If you do not plan to use daisy-chain mode, then you simply need to leave CONFIG1[6] = 0 and tie the DAISY_IN pin to ground.
Best Regards,
