DLP5530Q1EVM: DLP5530Q1EVM HDMI interface no response when connect to the computer

Part Number: DLP5530Q1EVM

Hi,TI Team!

We made our own PCB  based on  DLP5530Q1EVM  main board  whicih named DLP033B dlp553x evm controller, in our board,we just modified  the DMD  interface with a FPC cable terminal.

I test our board,DMD projector is ok,but HDMI interface  no response when connect to the PC.

when I used  DLP5530Q1EVM main board ,the PC can automatic identification when connected to  PC,but our board cann't.

In the schematic diagram as below, the component U506 I used M24C02-DRMF3TG/K , and TI DLP5530Q1EVM main board used AT34C02D-MAHM-T, I guess.

The DVI receiver chip is  TFP401AIPZPRQ1.

So,what's the problem with this situation? And how can I check it?

Thank you!

  • Hello -

Have you programmed the EDID PROM with a binary file? See attached instructions and binary file.

Customer DLPC230 and TPS99000 Fresh PCB Start Up Procedure.docxhttps://e2e.ti.com/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/94/DLPC230_5F00_EVM.bin

The third-part contractor who manufactures and assembles the PCBs of our EVMs performs the programming of the DLPC230 flash part and EDID EEPROM. Refer to steps 3.1 and 3.5 of the attached “…Start Up Procedure.docx” which we provide to the contractor. So the EVMs are pre-programmed when they are sold. For a new design, we’d recommend similar steps. For the EDID, there are a couple ways to do this: TI uses a Devasys USB-to-I2C board plus a custom-made I2C-to-HDMI adapter board, but there are probably other solutions available.

The DLPC230 comes with a built-in bootloader which means the flash can be empty on the first start-up, and then you can use the TI Control Program to program the device.

    Regards,

    Ross
