Hi,

I have designed a custom board with dual DLPC900 controllers. The board is working well.

What I am wondering next is if DLPC900 controllers can be swapped with DLPC4420. I have reviewed datasheet of both controllers. I think it is possible unless I am missing something obvious.

Any help on this matter is much appreciated.

Hi Paul,

Please see the following thread that Gary S. answered recently. The short answer is, if you plan to drive a DMD intended for use with the DLPC900 chipset, it will not work.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for a prompt response.

I don't need the the pattern, exposure, and trigger functions that the DLPC900 has in my application. Will it be possible to use DLPC4420 if I don't need the functions mentioned above?

Paul,

DLPC4420 cannot run the software/firmware from DLPC900. We don't have any support on the DLPC4420 for the DLPC900-supported DMDs.

If an end application can be implemented with a DLPC4420 and associated capabilities, I am not sure why one would start with a DLPC900 design.

Can you provide more specifics about what DMD and which DLPC900 design you are using.... and maybe a bit more on what it is that you want to accomplish?
