DLP3010EVM-LC: Internal Mode, Exposure time Range

Dear TI Members 

I got two type of Firmware and release Note from TI site and checking pre-test items with DLP3010EVM-LC before developing the real sample.  

Case1) DLP3010EVM-LC_Firmware_v9.0.1

Case2) FWSel_DLPC3478_DLPA2005_pm1_i2c0x36_v9p0p1

TI Recommended that it use FWSel_DLPC3478_DLPA2005_pm1_i2c0x36_v9p0p1 instead of DLP3010EVM-LC_Firmware_v9.0.1

Q1) Why is mentioned difference exposure time and format for internal Mode? 

      Case 1 mentioned 5 type pattern mode with exposure time and pattern numbers but Case 2 mentioned exposure time without pattern numbers. 

      It is same v9p0p1 and chip sets such as DLPC3478, DLPA2005 and DLP3010LC 

Q2) Can I use pattern type that was mentioned  Sequence 14,15,16,17,18 with exposure time?
      If I want to 10 patterns of 1 set , Is it possible? 

Q3) What is used case 1 or case 2 Firmware and release note?

    Hi Kim.

    Thanks for pointing this out, these release notes are incorrect. I will make sure they get updated. The correct internal pattern mode is as seen below. The difference between EVM firmware and other is simply it is made for the EVM hardware. The EVM hardware does not support full brightness thus firmware needs to be aware, you should use non-evm firmware for any custom boards.

    Additionally , I have soem questiones. 

    Q1) I understood that it is exposure time table that you attacehd for firmware1 and firmware 2. Is that correct? 

    Firmware 1) DLP3010EVM-LC_Firmware_v9.0.1

    Firmware 2) FWSel_DLPC3478_DLPA2005_pm1_i2c0x36_v9p0p1

    Q2) 1bit mode mentioned max exposure time 127598[us]. I will capture pattern image under camera 30fps. 

           Can I use exposure time over 127598[us]

    Hi Kim,

    1) Yes this is for all DLPC347x v9.0.1 fw.

    2) You may configure timings above 127598 us, however the behavior is not guaranteed.
