DLPDLCR471TPEVM: HDMI connection problem between DLPDLCR471TPEVM and PC

With the help of TI forum, I installed the bootloader and firmware on DLPC6540 (DLPDLCR471TPEVM).

I checked the connection in DLP EVM GUI and confirmed that the Splash image and other functions are working properly.

However, HDMI is not connected. When I press the 'Switch to External Video' button, it does not switch to the PC screen.

PC does not recognize HDMI port.

- When click the 'Switch to External Video' button, a splash image appears.

I'm checking the circuit I made.

Is there a possibility that there is a problem with the software I used?
Is there a way to get the GUI to recognize HDMI?

I have one more question.

Is there a way to change the splash image? I want to change the image that is displayed when the projector boots up.

Hello TAE-YOUNG,

Do you have a front end board included in your design? Our EVM uses IT6807, do you use the same one and have you ever programming the EDID?

For your second question, I need to look into how we can support the custom splash image at boot up.

I have never done EDID programming before.

But I found the EDID SW and guide document in the link below.

I am planning to buy Devasys board, HDMI adapter board for EDID programming.

Board 1, DeVaSys board is available for purchase.

However, board 2, HDMI EDID adapter cannot be found. Is there a place where I can purchase it?

I really appreciate you finding out how to custom splash image at boot.

Hello Kim,

1. Unfortunately the splash image can not be replaced directly by GUI for the DLP471TPEVM. If you really need this, please ping me in direct chat with the splash image you are interested in and i can help you with it.

2. Board 2 that you are referring to is custom made board. I do not think if there is any of the shelf adapter as such. Alternatively, you can either strip the IIC lines from the HDMI cable or either directly access the IIC line of the EDID EEPROM on ITE card.
