LED continuously on?

Dear Forum,

Is it possible to make one of the LED's to be ON continuously? I am asking because they normally seems to be pulsing, i.e. 5ms per LED with a 20ms period.

One way would be to simply disconnect the LED from the light crafter and apply an external current generator. Will the LightCrafter still run when the LED is disconnected?

Best,

David

  • Hello David,

The LEDs are pulsed and the duration of pulsing depends on the Display Mode. For example - In case of Pattern Sequence Mode with pattern bit-depth = 1 and setting exposure time = 250us and trigger period = 250us would cause the LED to run continuously.

If you are running in 'HDMI Video Mode' or 'Static Image Mode' or Internal Test Pattern mode, you will typically find a 5mSec pulsing per LED.

The LED driver takes two important signals - LED Current setting PWM signal and LED On strobes, if you are disconnecting from the LED driver board you must ensure that the two signals provided per LED.

Yes, LightCrafter runs still with LED disconnected except MSP430 v2.6 http://e2e.ti.com/support/dlp__mems_micro-electro-mechanical_systems/f/850/t/268292.aspx. This is a bug in the software in the LightCrafter Package 2.0. You may want to go to older version 1.1 package.
