How can I make pattern sequence??

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC350

I saw the video(www.youtube.com/watch, and applied it.

But I can't make the pattern.

Out light is just solid box..(red box and green box)

and brightness(out light) is releatively weak.

What can I do??

  • Hi,

It'll be easier for me to assist you if you can provide some more detail on the application and your system. Can you answer the following?

    • The part number or full EVM name
    • Any Texas Instruments software that you may be using and its version
    • Indicate the system type (Windows, Linux, etc.) and its version
    • Indicate any additional hardware used (cameras, optical engines, etc.)
    • Indicate whether the system uses custom code, a modified TI reference design, or an unmodified TI reference design
    • Detailed description of your issue

    Thanks!

    Paul

  • EVM name : DLP Light Crafter 4500(DLP 0.45 WXGA)

    Software : DLPLCR4500GUI-3.0.1

    System type : Win7 - 64 bit

    Use unmodified TI reference design.

I saw the video(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqx5_6_UR-E), and applied it.

But I can't make the pattern.

Out light is just solid box..(red box and green box)

  • Thank you. All of that seems good. One thing that comes to mind is using the correct flash index so that you get the correct type of image. Have you tried downloading the latest DLPC350 firmware from TI.com?

If you followed the example all the way through - saving a custom firmware state, etc. Can you revert back to the original firmware and try again?

It would help if you could send me some screenshots of your settings on the GUI so I can take a look and see if I can replicate the issue.
  • images are my gui state.

these images are my output image.

I want to color bar image .

  • Your issue is that you are loading the patterns with the incorrect bit depth. Here is a screenshot of my pattern sequence - I am able to generate the three bar image:

You can also generate the patterns in memory by using Video Mode in the GUI. Under "Source Select" choose "Images from Flash" and then pick an index. Then click "Set." You should see the pattern projected.

Please read chapter 4 of the Lightcrafter 4500 user's guide - it explains bit depth in detail and should help you understand how to make the patterns:

    Thanks,

    Paul

  • But I can't see the pattern.

below video is applying the your option.

also below video is video mode (Images from Flash)

  • Can you please attach a screen shot of the lightcrafter GUI? I'd like to see what settings you selected to produce those sequences.

One other thing to check - is the projector properly focused?

    Thanks,

    Paul

  • This is my settings.

and below video is applying the options.

also I check the focus, but I thnink that It's properly focused

  • I am able to take your settings and make the pattern. I wonder if there is something else going on. Have you modified the EVM hardware?

Please try the following and let me know what you see:

Put the LCr4500 in "Video Mode"

Under Source Select, choose "Images from Flash"

The dropdown menu below that is the index where the images live. Select each index and click "Set"

You should see 3 different images. Can you report back what they are?

    Thanks,

    Paul

  • I can't see the 3 different images.

below image is my setting and video is out image.

  • It sounds to me like the flash memory was somehow cleared. I recommend the following steps:

    1. Unplug the LCr4500
    2. Uninstall the GUI and re-download and install from Ti.com
    3. Delete any DLPC350 FW you may have and re-download it from Ti.com

Once you've reinstalled everything, plug in the LCr4500 and open the GUI. Confirm that the GUI can connect to the device and in the "Image/Firmware" tab, browse for the new FW and upload it.

Try the check for the default images again and see if they are in the flash.

    Thanks,
    Paul
