DLP4500: Play once in Pattern sequence mode displays more than one

Part Number: DLP4500

Hi Ti experts,

I have a problem with "play once" in "Pattern Sequence" mode.

(1)
 - I use GUI v3.0.1.
 - Data streamed throught HDMI port in 60hz.

(2)

My setting in GUI (attached) :
 - Operating Mode = Pattern sequence
 - Pattern Exposure = Pattern Perdiod = 13000 (us)
 - Pattern Source = Video port
 - Trigger Mode = Vsync
 - Clear DMD after exposure unchecked
 - 3 8bit depth patterns are added to pattern sequence.

Q)

I expect that it displays only one during 3X(Pattern Exposure).

It displays about six times ! I can't understand why ?

If Pattern Exposure (= Pattern Perdiod) is set to high values (1000000 for example) it displays only one.
If I add 12 8bit depth pattern (or more) to the pattern sequence, it displays only one.

The question is : how can I get only one display during 39000us ?

Regards,
Ahmed

  • Hi Ahmed,

Welcome to the DLP Forums and thank you for your question! This is a known bug in the software and we're working on getting the fix released soon. If you are able to control the Lightcrafter over USB or I2C in an environment other than the GUI, you should be able to get around this issue.

We'll post as soon as the update is completed and posted online.
