DLPLIGHTCRAFTER: DLP Lightcrafter is not detected in Windows 8/10

Part Number: DLPLIGHTCRAFTER

Hello,

I have a DLP lightcrafter evaluation module. Windows 8/10 does not recognize it. nothing is shown related to it in either the network adapters list or the COM ports list in the device manager. Any help will be appreciated.

  • Varun,

Welcome to the E2E forums, and thanks for your interest in our DLP technology.

Incompatibility with Windows 8/10 is a known bug which appears to be tied to the way drivers are implemented in the operating system. I recommend you use Windows 7 to program the EVM until a workaround is implemented.

    I hope this helps.

  • Thanks a lot, Philippe. I tried talking to the DLP using a windows XP PC, with no luck. Also, I see that I also have the exact same problem as the one in:
    e2e.ti.com/.../323798
where I see a red error LED on the top board, and red+green led's on the bottom boards, and the board is not responsive to the on/off button. I tried the solutions, but could not get the DLP working.

I actually have the DLP with the source LEDs removed (because I just want to use the DMD). This was done by a previous person, and it worked out for him.
  • Varun,

The system is not expected to operate properly if the LEDs are disconnected. Are you certain that the previous user was able to get it working? I do not believe this use case is supported.

  • Varun,

Do you still need assistance with this issue? If not I will tentatively close this thread.
