Hi, 

I use the DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2 tool with the GUI DLP Lightcrafter Display v7.0.

It seems I cannot change the splash images, even when using the resolution advised to Arturo. I tried .jpg and .png formats. 

I can only project the first splash image (replacing the logo splash), but never any other splash image. The EVM becomes slow. Furthermore, when going to the Advanced tab, under Splash section, and clicking on Read Splash Screen Header, I get the following error message: Read Cmd:SplashScreenHeader, addr;37, subAddr:f SendRead(FAILED(1)). This seems to indicate that even though I can project one image, the procedure did not go well.

Could you please give more information on how to project multiple splash images with this tool: precise resolution in pixels, precise format, precise procedure?

    Welcome to the E2E forums, and thanks for your interest in our DLP technology.

    What size are the flash images you are attempting to use with your system? There is a strict limit (I believe it is 2-4 MB depending on the flash size) of how large the splash can be in this case. Please provide specifications for the images you are trying to use (and supply samples to reproduce the issue if possible).

    Thank you for the swift reply.

    Please find attached the two images I try to use as 1st and 2nd splash images. I believe they are of size 18 KB and 76 KB, respectively.

    Hopefully you will be able to tell me what I have been doing wrong!

    Dear Philippe,

    Any news on how to project images with the LightCrafter? I have received the exact images we would like to use, it would be great if you could indicate if they work, and if not, what changes should be applied to them in order to use them.

    I attached one of them below.

    Thanks for your patience.

    This seems to be a bug with the DLP Lightcrafter Display v7.0 that affects only the 3010 G2 EVM. We have informed the concerned development team about the issue. Meanwhile, I'm actively looking for a workaround for this issue and will let you know if I find one.

    Can you elaborate on your intended application? How many custom images do you plan to use? Do you plan to update the splash images only once or will you constantly keep changing them over time? If it is the latter, I suggest considering using external video input until this bug is resolved.

    Dear Azad,

    Thank you for your answer.

    Our application is to use the EVM to send specific images into an optical system to test its properties. An ideal situation would be to be able to test 21 different images. A fallback situation would be to test 4 different images. As it is possible to flash 4 images into the EVM, we thought this might be a good solution. It is important for us to control the resolution of the images, this is why we would prefer to avoid using the external video output via HDMI if we can.

    Please let me know if you do find a workaround.
