DLPDLCR2000EVM: Will it come along with BeagleBone Black processor in built.

Part Number: DLPDLCR2000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC2607,

Hi,

I would like to implement a HUD demo using DLPDLCR2000EVM as My requirement quiet satisfies with input data lines of DLPC2607 of this module.

Now My question is , Is this module by default having BeagleBone Black processor in place or we have provision to use our own processor.

I would like to use my HALO NXP processor for image rendering.

Please let me know ,if it is feasible with this EVM.

Thanks,

Renuka.

  • Renuka,

Welcome to the E2E forums, and thanks for your interest in our DLP technology.

I am not familiar with the HALO NXP processor. However, any host processor which is capable of outputting parallel RGB888 video (and features I2C functionality) should be compatible with the DLPDLCR2000EVM. If you have trouble discerning this, share the datasheet/product information for the exact part you want to use so we can take a look.

  • Hi Philippe,

    Thanks for the response.

Please find the Pinout of my connector to which I would like to connect DLPDLCR2000EVM to be used as Heads up Display. Have a look and let me know if it suits my project. Please confirm that this EVM module doesnt come with in built host processor and have provision to connect any compatible processor. And let me know the configuration to be followed to use it.

    Thanks,

    Renuka.

  • Renuka,

The RGB888 parallel interface should work if you ensure that your connector interfaces with the DLPDLCR2000EVM with the following configuration:
    elinux.org/24bit_LCD_for_BBB

Following each of the 24 data bits, you can match them up to the diagram in section 3.2 of the DLPDLCR2000EVM User's Guide below:
    www.ti.com/.../dlpu049c.pdf

I can't tell how you have assigned your pins, although it does not look correct if I assume it aligns with header P1 on the EVM. As for the EVM module itself, it does not have a built in host processor. The expectation is that a host processor is attached to provide I2C functionality and video input.
  • Renuka,

Any updates on this issue? If not I will tentatively close this thread. Feel free to reopen if you have further questions.
