DLPDLCR2000EVM: Not able to login using BeagleBoneBlack

I think I've successfully made it through Step 7 of this Quick-Start Tutorial, http://e2e.ti.com/support/dlp/f/94/t/621466. I'm trying to login using PuTTY but it's not working. I get an error from PuTTY that says, "Network Error: Connection timed out." I've tried this with and without the SD card inserted. When it's not inserted I do get a confirmation on the Beagle Board getting started site, http://beagleboard.org/getting-started#troubleshooting, that I have an active USB connection. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your interest in our DLP technology.

The drivers for the BeagleBone Black sometimes take a while to load on Windows. For starters, I recommend just giving the system a few minutes to initialize and ensure you aren't getting a false negative here.

If the BeagleBone is properly initialized you should see the BeagleBone as a drive on your "My Computer" window in Windows. If this isn't appearing there are a couple things you can try:

> Start by removing the DLPDLCR2000EVM for the time being, as this is a BeagleBone-side issue and you want to eliminate as any factors from the equation as possible
> While plugging in the BeagleBone, hold down the "Boot" button on your device to force the system to load from the SD card. You will want to make sure that the SD card you are using is a bootable live image rather than an installer image. If you have an installer image you are effectively telling the BeagleBone to install the OS from scratch each time you try to boot the system.
> If this fails, consider trying a different BeagleBone image from the download repository

I think the issue was getting the right debian copy. I found a version of the 8.9 which seems to be working now. I'm now stuck at Step 11 though. When I run "sudo apt-get install mplayer2" I get this ouput,

Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package mplayer2

Do you know where I might be going wrong here?

Did you try running "sudo apt-get update" first? You need to do this first to update your system's list of available repositories to download from (so that you can actually find an mplayer2 package to get).

This issue will occur if your system is not connected to the internet properly. You should check your network settings.

Keep in mind that you can also make use of the BeagleBoard.org community forums for assistance with some of these BeagleBone-specific issues. I hope this helps.
