DLPLCR6500EVM: Stuck on Standby Mode

Hi,

I have encountered a problem that EVM is stuck on standby mode even though I change it to normal mode. Besides, It is also remaining on video mode and cannot change to another operating mode like Pattern On-the-fly mode. I am testing it through GUI.I did not bend the cable too hard and I rarely bend the cable.The LEDs show that it is working properly but obviously DMD is stuck on standby mode. I tried updating the firmware. There is no change. I did not know what is happening exactly and I really want to know how to fix the problem. I would be glad if I get any suggestion or solution to this problem. Thanks!

Welcome to the DLP section of the TI-E2E forums.

We are sorry to hear about the issue(s) you are encountering.

Here are some questions or things to try:

First, try a different USB cable. We have encountered a number of issues that can be caused by a bad or poor USB cable.
What version of the Firmware (and GUI) are you running? Each FW requires a specific matching GUI.
When you start the GUI with the board attached via USB, does the GUI report that it is connected?

Let's start with these and work our way forward.

Hi Khine,

Does GUI report DMD incompatible error in status section.

If yes then please check your DMD board is working properly.

Hi Fizix,

First of all , thanks for your advice.I changed the USB cable and still nothing is changed. I am currently using GUI version 4.0.1 with firmware version 5.0.0. and when I start the GUI with USB cable, it shows "Connected" but it is in standby mode. Looking forward to hearing from you for more suggestions.

Hi ykc,

I am currently trying to test the voltage as you suggested. I could not find another J1 for Vcc. I am wondering where I can send the DLP lightcrafter 6500 EVM to get repaired. I am currently in Hsinchu, Taiwan. I would like to know whether there is any TI service center in Taiwan to repair. If so, could I know if there is any form to send it to service center?
