Hi there,

I am trying to find the RGB LEDs or RGB LDs to generate 200 lumen for a pico projector.

What optical power of the light sources do I need to select for 200 lumen projector?

Hello,

Could you please let us know what DMD you are looking to use? Are you looking to design your own optics or use a pre-built optical module? Selecting the LED Lumen output depends upon the selected optical modules and other efficiencies.

I will use the DLP 4500 and redesign optics to make 200 lumen projector.

Hello,

You can see the LED current versus brightness (in lux) of the LEDs used in the iView light engine in Figures 2-4 in the DLP4500EVM user's guide at www.ti.com/.../dlpu011f.pdf. The iView light engine is capable of approximately 150lumens. Using this information plus the information about the DLP4500 DMD efficiency and your optics efficiency you could probably calculate your needed LEDs.
