Hi,

I have purchased and got new DLPLCR6500EVM on June 1st 2019. I have encountered the same problem from my previous one https://e2e.ti.com/support/dlp/f/94/p/789002/2923509?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=DLPLCR6500EVM#2923509 When I give the power supply , the DLP logo is not displayed which is supposed to be displayed. Now I really need to know the reason of this problem and how to fix this problem? Is there anything TI can do to solve the problem in short time? because I do not have much time for my research project.

Hi ykc,

It worked fine for a few days but today it stuck in Standby mode and the status says Controller/DMD Incompatible and DMD micromirror parked.

Hello Khine,

Please check your power supply. Also make sure to not touch the board components with bare hands without any esd protection.

Also please ensure that the DMD correctly powered down every time before power is removed from the EVM.

Failure to correctly power down the DMD can cause the micromirrors to become stuck

Hi all,

Thanks for your reply. I have checked the power supply. It is 12.5V and the LEDs are still on.

And, Carey, can you tell me more about the correctly power down the DMD? What I understand about correctly power down the DMD is to set the Standby mode a few seconds before the removal of power supply.

Hi ykc,

The DLP is now working again, although I did not do anything like updating the firmware. I just leave it for a few days and now I give the power supply and it starts working. If you know the reason, please kindly let me know so that I can prevent this problem happening again.

Hello Khine,

Had you completely removed power in the prior attempts?

To also at to what kyc said, you should not touch the boards without ESD protection and do not touch the boards at all while they are operating.

Beyond that we do not know why it occurred. If it does occur again, see if removing power for a longer period recovers the issue. If it does, then there may be some kind of thermal issue.
