Hi! We have a couple of 4710s that were programed to run at 120Hz in Windows PCs. We'd now like to be able to do the same (i.e., run it at 120Hz) in Linux. Is there an equivalent app?
Thanks!
cher
Hello Cherlyn,
I'm assuming you're asking about the GUI that can be used to setup the DLP4710EVM on the PC? Unfortunately we do not have a GUI for this. You can however take a look at the DLPC3439 programmer's guide which details the available I2C commands that would need to be implemented. Alternatively we have a recently released API (DLPC-API) that could theoretically be ported to Linux and used to control the EVM.
Thanks,
Kyle
Thanks Kyle! Do you have a driver or something vaguely related for Linux and on what distribution? Thanks!
Hi Cherlyn,
If you are using the EVM we use a Cypress IC to handle the PC USB communication to I2C communication of the DLPC3439 controller on the board. I believe Cypress provides a Linux SDK at https://www.cypress.com/documentation/software-and-drivers/usb-serial-software-development-kit.
Thanks,
Kyle
Is it possible to get the source code for Windows, so that we have an idea of how to port by using Linux versions of the Windows calls?
Thanks lots, Kyle!
Hello Cherlyn,
What source code are you looking for? The DLPC-API source code is provided online.
Thanks,
Kyle
Hi if you resolved this issue would you mind sharing the steps / solution as I am about to start on the same problem. I have a DLP4710 and am using Ubuntu 18.04 Linux
thanks
Mike
Hi Mike, unfortunately we do not have a working solution yet. We'll keep you posted but it's probably going to be early next year. Appreciate if you would share too. Thanks much, cher
