Hello,
I would like to run a test for the maximum switch rate of the DMDs from all ON state to all OFF state, I have defined a pattern set with two 1-bit patterns, one with all black pixels and the other with all white pixels (as shown below).
I've used the minimum allowed timing parameters, but when I tested with a oscilloscope the data rate was around 1.2 kHz (instead of 2.4 kHz as shown on the datasheet), could you please point out how I should change the settings?
Also, is there a way to use 1-bit monochrome (illuminated with white light?) instead of 1-bit RGB?
Thanks!
Hi Talia Xu,
The data rate you are measuring is the frame rate which should be expected to be close to 1.2 kHZ. The datasheet value of 2.4 kHZ corresponds to maximum pattern rate and not frame rate. Here in your case, the frame rate will be pattern rate/2 since there are 2 patterns in the pattern set.
Also,
1-bit monochrome does not have support for white illumination, it has support only for red, green and blue illuminations.

Mayank
Hi Mayank,
Thank you for your reply. Is there another setting I could use to change the rate the mirrors turn on/off to be 2.4 KHz, if I use a different pattern/ setting? All I want to do is to set all mirrors to the "ON" position followed by "OFF"
Hi Xu,
I do not think that will be possible. You will require at least 2 patterns to make the mirror on and off. And with 2 patterns you can achieve a max frame rate of 1243 Hz only.

Mayank
