DLPNIRNANOEVM: Bluetooth connection PIN? Between cell phone app and NIRscan.

Part Number: DLPNIRNANOEVM

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to connect my NIRscan EVE to the Android app but it keeps asking me for a PIN. I tried using 0000, 1111, etc to no avail.

As you can see, my Android device clearly sees the device yet when I try to connect using the Bluetooth manager but it wont work. I also tried connecting from directly within the NIRscan Nano app (v1.0) itself by clicking on the connect icon (top right, circled) and nothing. The blue light on the EVM is blinking and searching for a connection and is activated.

I know there was a similar post on this very same issue, but he said that "When I connect inside the app, everything works great." - but its not working for me. See this thread:  https://e2e.ti.com/support/dlp/f/94/p/782362/2903400

I'm using the latest firmware: TIVA v2.1.0, GUI v2.1.0, DLPC flash v2.2.0

You can see screenshots of the errors I'm receiving here

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

  • Hello Matt,

I am not able to see the screen shot. Could you please upload the screen shots directly in the post as attachment?

    regards,

    Vivek

  • Hi Vivek,

Thanks for the reply. You can see the pics here: https://ibb.co/album/GQTH9f

I just tried and it worked, the files are publicly accessible. Let me know if you still have issues.

  • Hello Matt,

Just to clarify - Is blue tooth working and you do not need assistance with this issue?

    regards,

    VIvek

  • Hi Vikek,

Yes, the blue LED on the NIRScan is on and I can clearly see it broadcasting a signal. The NIR software also shows that under 'Device Status' the it's set to "BT ready' and 'BT Connected' - however its asking me for a PIN.

I already have the latest firmware 2.x.x as shown in the screenshots below:

The device I used to connect is a LG LV50, the BT on this device is working fine as I can connect other BT devices.

    Any suggestions?

  • Hi Matt,

The device should not ask for PIN if you connect through the NIRScan Nano App. Kindly follow the steps below:

    1. If you see NIRScan Nano in your phone's bluetooth registered devices, remove it.

    2. Turn off and turn on your phone bluetooth again.

    3. Make sure your phone is not connected to any other bluetooth devices.

    4. Reset the NIRScan Nano, make sure that the windows GUI is closed.

    5. Turn on the bluetooth mode on NIRScan nano by pressing the scan button for > 3 seconds.

    6. Now open the NIRScan Nano app and connect using the in app connection button. It should connect automatically without any device/pin prompt.

Kindly let us know if this helps.
