XTCIEVMK2LX: Can ADC34J22EVM be directly connected to XTCIEVMK2LX and used in a programmatic way?

Part Number: XTCIEVMK2LX

Hello, experts.

I'm struggling for getting data from an 3rd party ADC board with XTCIEVMK2LX (see this). Now I'm considering another approach: using an ADC EVM from TI such as ADC34J22EVM.

So, can I directly connect the ADC EVM to XTCIEVMK2LX using the FMC connector and get data in a programmatic way using RF SDK or something like that?

I know there are some showcases provided by TI which shows how to use some ADC and DAC EVMs with 66AK2L06 EVM, but the ADC EVMs are too expensive to try, and I don't need DAC attachment. So, I wonder that I can connect the ADC EVM only to the DSP-ARM EVM without the DLC card and run some test using the RF SDK tools.

Thank you very much!

ps. If this is needed to move to High Speed Data Converter forum, please do so. :)

  • Hi,

I've notified the TCI66x hardware designers. Their feedback will be posted directly here.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Yordan, Huioon,

The only hardware and software testing done between different ADC/DAC EVM and K2L EVM are those that have been explicitly described in the RFSDK user guide.

Other TI ADC/DAC EVM and K2L EVM combinations may be hardware compatible, but TI has not tested them all. This includes no test or example of software control or JESD SERDES setup and digital front-end (DFE) data acquisition either.

And of course, this does not mean that the data-converter IC and K2L SoC are themselves not compatible - just that the EVM have not be tested together.

    Thank you,
    Randy
