I am using custom board having dm814x Having 512Mb Ram attached to DDR0 , with starting address of 0x80000000.

I have changed MEMCFG to 0x9FF00000 from default value of 0xBFF00000 and Notify mem to 0x9F900000 from 0xBF900000

and IPC shared region from 0xAB000000 to 0x8B000000 and Selected 512M in default config. and Compiled the firmware loader and sys_top.

I have changed the Memory map but i am unable to load hdvpss firmware and hdvicp firmware gets started but sys_top command does not show it.

Hi Ammar,

For using single EMIF (DDR0 only), make sure you apply the required settings in u-boot explained in the below wiki:

processors.wiki.ti.com/.../TI814x-DDR3-Init-U-Boot

Regarding Linux kernel and user space settings, please clarify if you are using EZSDK 5.05.02.00. In EZSDK the default memory map is for 1GByte DDR3 memory. For changing it to 512MByte, refer to the below wiki page:

Yes i am using EZSDK 5.05.02.00 but as you know memory maps provided in it , covers 2 DDR controllers , I have a custom board with with 512 MB RAM attached to one DDR0/EMIF0 controller .

What makes you think this is a problem? Just skip step1 (Update LISA Registers) and continue with next steps. Step1 is covered in u-boot patch.

Dear Pavel,

The problem is with reserved memory maps . 512 MB on DDR0 starting from 0x80000000 can not reach MemCfg address of 0xBFF00000.
And reading the document makes me believe that i need to get sources for this reserved memory.

Ammar,

None of the steps (from 2.1 to 2.4) described for 512MB memory map needs source code for reserved memory segments. If you need to change the addresses of the reserved memory segments also, then you need the source code as Media Controller executables need to be rebuild.

Where exactly you have found instructions that you MUST change anything related to reserved memory segments?
