DM8168 Dual SD video capture

Hi Aarti,

DM8168 can capture more 2 channels of SD resolution. It has 4, 8-bit ports, so it could capture more.

      I have tried dual HD capture simultaneously so yes, your scenario should be possible too.

Hi Aarti,

Yes you can capture SD video from HD ports. In that case only lower 8-bit of the video port will be used.

Also, please note - if you are going to use ezsdk that doesn't support dual video capture so you need to add support for that however that is very simple and doable. I was able to achieve that with minimal efforts.

  Yes, it should be possible. As I mentioned before I had done dual capture in the EVM or in the customer HW with HD resolutions, not SD. We have a patch to enable dual capture with HD and V4L2 which would need to be modified in case of SD capture but it is not included in the Ridgerun eval SDK by default. However, as Krunal mentioned you can give it a try to adding dual capture following this the info on this post which was useful for me

The configuration really depends on your decoder. Typically decoder uses 8bit embedded sync format, but it could be 8 or 16 bit embedded sync or discrete sync format and accordingly we need to configure vip port.
