Hello,
I'm currently looking into using the /products/catalog endpoint of the product information API rather than the /products/{tiPartNumber} endpoint for my integration (not to say that I have a solution using the latter endpoint in production already). A business member was concerned that the catalog endpoint might use cached data, due to some past experience with full catalog downloads. I didn't see any indication of this in the API docs, and I couldn't find this question asked nor answered before on this forum. So just to make sure, is there any reason that data from the catalog endpoint would be outdated relative to the single part request endpoint? Also, if there is, by roughly how long, and would the /products endpoint also be subject to this delay?
Thank you very much,
Josh
Hi Josh
We only update full catalog once a day, since the API downloads the full catalog we only allow 1 call every 4 hours (but note that this may change at any time).

Tammy
Hi Tammy,
Thanks very much for the quick reply! Just to be clear, are the /products and /products/{tiPartNumber} endpoint data updated more frequently than once per day then? If so, how frequently?
Thank you again,
Josh
I really cannot say, as we receive stock for that product it would be updated, it is not necessarily a certain time of day or date. What might be most useful to you - would be for you to investigate using the Inventory subscription push API to receive an alert for the products you are interested in ordering. It is on the API portal see below.
A Subscription is a notification that can be configured to notify you when parts have been stocked up with the quantity that you need. Subscriptions provide you with the capability to manage, create, delete notifications regarding products; Subscriptions also give you the ability to control the frequency of notifications, the timing in which the notifications are sent and when notifications will stop being sent. One of the most frequent use cases is to be notified when a product has been stocked up with the quantity you want to order.
You can create a new subscription notification by using the Inventory subscription push API TI store Inventory subscription push API | TI API Portal
Hi Tammy,
Your statement that those endpoints are updated as stock comes in is just what I needed to know. I'm also very interested in trying out the push API. Thanks very much once more.
Sincerely,
Josh
