Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA6408
Hi TI,
Since TCA6804ARGTR is out of stock, we are looking at the older model TCA6804RGTR. What are the differences between these chips?
Thanks,
Bryan

Hi Bryan,
The TCA6408A is a pin to pin replacement for the TCA6408. It has the same functionality as the older device. However, there were some performance improvements made to the Power on Reset and Interrupt. You can read about those erratas in the TCA6408 datasheet.
The RESET pin on the TCA6408 is referenced to VCCP and on the TCA6408A it is referenced to VCCI.
The TCA6408 is not recommended for new designs so when the A version comes back in stock we definitely recommend upgrading to that.
