Hi Team,

We would like to ask your help regarding the customer's inquiry below.

I need a TVS to protect HDMI signals. The surge that we are trying to suppress is similar to waveform 4 in the MIL-STD-461 G (please refer to the waveform below). 4.6 uS risetime to 100V and then decays to @ 50% in 69uS.

Is a double exponential with risetime of 6.4 uS and fall to 50% in 69 uS. The Vmax. = 100 V. and max. current of 333A. It is a part of the conducted susceptibility 117 (for Lightning), not just for regular ESD

The circuit I need to protect has a absolute max. voltage of 3.6V. The TVS needs to be capable of sustaining @ 1.15 k-Watts for 69 uS.

Hi Danilo,

The closest part we have in our portfolio for this would be either ESDS312 or ESDS314. However, these devices are rated for the IEC 61000-4-5 surge spec which is an 8/20 us waveform. These devices can only withstand 25 A of a 8/20 us waveform, so they will probably not be able to withstand 333 A of a longer 6.4/69 us waveform.
