TSER953: whether can be used with UB960?

Part Number: TSER953
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB953-Q1EVM, DS90UB953-Q1, TDES960

Hello.

Initially we considered to use UB953-UB960 pair, but there is an availability problem for UB953.

We can see TSER953 is available, that differs from UB953 by temp range.

Now we considering to use TSER953 instead of UB953.

Could you please confirm TSER953  is compatible to UB960?

Thank you.

  • Hello Slava,

TSER953 is only compatible with TDES products, not with FPD-Link products.

    Best Regards,

    Casey

  • Hi Casey,

    1. On TSER953 web page on ti.com DS90UB953-Q1EVM presented as a dev board for TSER953.

Based on this information we supposed, TSER953 is compatible to DS90UB953, and we wanted use it , while DS90UB953 is not available.

If these two devices are incompatible, what's the evaluation board could you propose for TSER953?

    2. TDS960 is specified in TSER953 manual, but it's not available yet.

Is some preliminary datasheet for TDS960 available?

Can we provide the samples of this device and what is an RTM date?

    Thank you.

  • Hello Slava,

The TSER953 and DS90UB953-Q1 share the same dev board. You can purchase the DS90UB953-Q1 dev board and populate it with TSER953 for evaluation. But that does not mean that the TSER and FPD devices can interoperate. They are not qualified or screened for relevant parameters to ensure that they can interoperate reliably across PVT.

For TDES960, it should be released to TI.com in a matter of weeks - so please stay tuned to TI.com for release information. We can not release a preliminary datasheet but you should see the full datasheet available on TI.com very soon

For samples of devices, please work with your local TI sales representative or distributor

    Best Regards,

    Casey
