LMH1228: Driving 6G and 12G SDI across rigid-flex

Hello Guys,

Good day.

Our customer want to use the LMH1228 to drive 6Gb and eventually 12Gb SDI from one hardboard, across a flexible appendage to coax pins on another hardboard.

They can't use the coplanar wave method described in SNLA288 or use stitching. They are seeking advise on the best way to do this w/ stripline.

Best option is to use s-parameter model of the LMH1228 with your customer stripline s-parameter model. Please ask your customer to use link below to request access to the LMH1228 IBIS-AMI model.

Hi Art,

PCB layout guidance is usually at the end of the data sheet - paragraph 9. Customer can additionally take a look at the LMH1297EVM pcb layout as well. Once the customer applies for access to the IBIS-AMI files, he or she would get access to this pcb layout as well.
