DS90UB953-Q1: If it's ok to replace the POC inductor with a 47kohm resistor when POC loading is small for camera module

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1

HI Team,

In my customer's camera system, the main power is from the battery directly. But they need an extra enable signal to power the camera's front-end DCDC in camera module. And customer design to use the enable signal through the POC circuit. So the POC loading is very small only for the enable signal around 10uA.

Base on above their question is if customer can replace the POC inductor with a 47kohm resistor for the POC circuit since the POC loading at camera side only around 10uA? Is it ok?

  • Hello,

As long as you can verify that the S-Parameters of the FPD-Link channel still meet the spec given in the datasheet then there shouldn't be an issue.  As for the load if you can provide the current you need then I don't see an issue, but I cannot say for certain if the overall circuit will work.

    Regards,

    Nick
