TCAN1044A-Q1: Can TCAN1044 pin5 Vio be NC?

Part Number: TCAN1044A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642

Hi Team,

There is a good news that we DIN TCAN1044A-Q1 !

Can TCAN1044 pin5 Vio be NC?

  • Hello,

If you are using the non-V version of the device then the VIO pin is not internally connected to the device. You can leave it floating.

If you are using the V-Version of the device you have to supply the VIO pin with a voltage or all the internal sources for the digital pins will not have a pull up voltage. This means that your digital pins will not work.

If this answered your question don't forget to hit the button. If you have any more questions let me know.

    Best,

    Chris

  • Hi Chris

Thank you so much for your help & feedback !

    More question :

    1. The following table, if Vio input 4V, can it be said to AWR1642 / 1843/6843 VIOIN 3.3V CANFD TX / RX 3.3V?

    2.  1642/1843/6843 Power supply VIOIN 3.3V

  • Hi Kygo,

I'm not sure I understand your questions here. If you're asking if TCAN1044 is compatible with AWR1642, the answer is yes. TCAN1044 can operate at logic level voltages including 1.8V, 3.3V, and 5V. The Vio supply for the transceiver should be at the same voltage as the VIOIN for the controller.
