SN65DSI86: Resolution supported by SN65DSI86

Hi Sir,

Our customer needs MIPI_DSI to eDP and consider to using the SN65DSI86.

At present, the CUP they use is MT8788. According to the datasheet we know that the maximum resolution it can support is 2400*1080, but the screen that needs to be debugged is eDP 2736x1824. Does SN65DSI86 support this resolution? Or u can give some other suggestion?

So the DSI side can only 2400x1800, but you want to support 2736x1824 on the eDP side?

Hi,

Assume 2736x1824 is the total resolution, and also 30Hz and 24bpp

Pixel clock = 2736 * 1824 * 30 = 149.713MHz

Stream rate = 149.713 * 24bpp = 3.59Gbps

Min Required DSI Clock Frequency = StreamBitRate / (Min_Number_DSI_Lanes × 2)

Assume Min_Number_DSI_Lanes = 4, Min Required DSI Clock Frequency = 3.59 / 8 = 449MHz
