DS90UH941AS-Q1: HDCP Latency in FPD-Link Devices

Part Number: DS90UH941AS-Q1

Hi FPD-team,

In regards to HDCP on the DS90UH941AS-Q1, my customer is interested in the latency this will have on the bidirectional control channel (BCC) communication. From looking at the HDCP v1.4 specification, it seems the key authentication will take no more than 100ms.

That being said, I don't know enough about HDCP to understand how this would effect throughput latency. For instance, does authentication only happen once on start-up? Whereby any additional latency would only be due to encryption of the data being sent? Does this only effect the forward channel video data, or does it also effect the BCC? The encryption latency doesn't seem to be defined in the HDCP v1.4 specification that I could find.

Thanks for any insight you can provide!

Regards,

Andy
