The DP83848 has Application Note AN-1469 which covers its layout guidelines.
In Section 2, Figure 2 (shown below), indicates that the centre taps for TD and RD pairs have been connected to Vdd at two places - close to the PHY and close to the Transformer T1.
Are both of the aforementioned connections required ? What would be the effect, if say the Vdd connection near the Transformer T1 is omitted ?
