Hi,
During the course of ESD air discharge (from +/-2kV onwards) at the SPE connector, USB-2-MDIO link is observed to be disrupted and reconnected back (visible LED blink and USB COM port re-established sound).
I found that the USB-MDIO link is very sensitive to the air discharge. Even with the ESD gun triggered discharge to air, and not even close to the board, the above situation still can happen.
This resulted in USB-2-MDIO tool required to be closed and re-opened port.
Will this cause issue in reading the ESD event register?
Is it correct to assume that the event status should remain in the register?
