Hi,

I would like to use TI's ESD diodes for my application. I have 4 different communication protocol. I have very limited space on the board so if possible please suggest some small parts for these protocols.

For CAN Bus, we currently do not have a device in our portfolio, but we are in the process of developing one. Can you please share the other interfaces so I can suggest parts accordingly?

Also, can you please share the application these parts will be used in?

Hi Matt,

Other interfaces are RS422, RS485 and RS232

Hello,

For those interfaces I would recommend TPD2E007. It is a 2 channel 13 V device that comes in a PicoStar (0.77mm x 0.77mm) package. Is this device acceptable for you?

Can I use the TPD1E01B04 TVS diode for RS422 and RS485 ?

Hello,

I would not recommend it. RS422 voltage levels can go up to 6 V and RS485 up to 12 V. TPD1E01B04 has a 3.6 V Vrwm, so any voltage over that will make the diode start conducting and prematurely short the signal to ground.
